2012 DC Slideshow

Here are the photos collected throughout the 2012 DC Trip.  There are more photos of the girls than the boys simply because I was on the girls' bus.  I tried to get as many of the guys as I could...so enjoy!

After a whirlwind tour of DC, the girls are all tuckered out!

Students listen to the docent at the National Cathedral.  This was our last stop before heading home.  Students also visited Mt. Vernon, the home of George Washington, and viewed our nation's important documents at the National Archives.  Many pictures of our travels will be uploaded at some point this weekend, so check back to see more photos!

Students listen to a Capitol Hill page explain about the rotunda.  After touring the Capitol building, we had a lunch cruise down the Potomac, went to the Holocaust Museum, visited the Smithsonians, and toured the Vietnam, Korean, WWII, and Lincoln Memorials.  We had a super busy day, and the kids are tired!  But, they are enjoying it!

Students pose at the FDR Memorial.  We also visited Arlington National Cemetery, Jefferson Memorial, and Iwo Jima Marine Memorials today.

The boys in front of the Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial.  This memorial just opened last fall.  The theme was out of mountains of despair came a stone of hope.

Kids are stretching out on the lawn at our lunch stop in PA.  Lunch included Subway, Dominoes Pizza, Dairy Queen, Taco Bell, or KFC.  Only 2.5 hours until we start getting into the heart of our trip itinerary!

First stop - Students give the stuffed bear a hug at the Pennsylvania Welcome Center.  Onward to DC!
